It's a bird, it's a….city?
When Andrew Bird played a hometown show in Chicago's Millennium Park, I was commissioned to create a commemorative poster for the event. The poster depicts an image of a bird, but when rotated 90° the image changes to depict the city of Chicago as viewed from Millennium Park's Pritzker Pavillion.
This poster, like many others, started with a very rough sketch of the idea -- just enough to get the concept across:
