Gamifying Laundry

Whirlpool believes technology should simplify the things we do everyday – so we developed WashSquad to make laundry easier to delegate and do.

Laundry is one of the most dreaded household tasks. Just 44% of people do 100% of the laundry in their home. Whether they are worried no one else knows how to do it or they don't trust others to do it the way they would, everyone could all use a little help in the laundry room.

WashSquad allows users to lighten their laundry load by assigning responsibilities to family members, while tracking and rewarding laundry feats on the Wash Board. There’s also an information hub with stain and laundry tips, appliance registration and management.

By incorporating gamification and incentivizing the entire family to participate in sharing the task, the app helps families while providing an experience that the household can get involved with together.

And while I don't generally show work that didn't make the cut, a remnant from our first presentation of this app remains one of my favorite moments, so I'll share it with your here...
