In 2013, I was honored to lead the design of the world's largest annual gathering of designers.
As the conference launched AIGA’s centennial, the marketing celebrated AIGA's rich history of award-winning design by combining elements from hundreds of pieces of work from the AIGA Design Archives. This historic work was displayed through a window grid of squares, referencing AIGA's logo.
Before the conference we honored the past, but the conference itself was all about celebrating the present. To do so, and in keeping with the conference title, attendees were asked to upload representations of their HEAD (their face), HEART (their favorite color), and HAND (their work) during the registration process.
As a result, attendees discovered that the identity of the conference reflected them all, giving an accurate representation of the field of design today.
Throughout the conference, attendees searched for themselves and others, sharing their discoveries on social.
My personal favorite of the many items we created for this conference was the book. Ask me when we meet in person, and I'll share it with you.
